Prompt professional experts with great practicality and great prices. Best you're going to get for your car, especially once you're out of warranty and taking it to the dealer is an expensive, inflexible proposition. Rod knock led to engine failure requiring rebuild with a new short block: dealership's service dept price was $7100, Bay Auto's price w/ a non-new (but in good shape w/ warranty) short block was $3200. Runs great since then. Say hello to the fishtank fish for me if you go.

Brought my car here because it was close to my house and I didn't want to drive farther to my usual place in Alameda. I was impressed enough that I will definitely stick with this place from now on! Ricky stood with me and diagnosed the car while I watched, and explained exactly what needed to be repaired. The estimate seemed very fair to replace the entire radiator. They ended up fixing the car same-day in a matter of hours! Much faster than I was expecting. Afterwards he again showed me exactly what had been done and did a final check. The cherry on top was them returning the car freshly washed. As a young woman I feel like most other mechanics I have gone to will offer only the bare minimum explanation, or condescendingly over-explain the necessary repairs. I really appreciated that Ricky was professional and informative without talking down to me at all. This place deserves all the good reviews!

My front door lock wasn't working and took it in here just based on Google reviews. They were professional start to finish. No issues fixing the lock, they called me when the part arrived and when the car was done. I thought it was a really nice touch that it looks like they gave my car a light wash and vacuum as well.

I’ve been bringing my car there for the last 9 years. They’re awesome, consistant service, transparent pricing , and super friendly at the front desk. I think the prices are fair, they don’t overdo what does not need to be done/ push for more which I appreciate. I recently got my tires replaced there, was in a bit of a rush and the tires were delayed, but they kept me well informed on progress during the process, and were able to turn around the install very quickly once the tires got delivered to them. They also always give the car a quick rinse/wash upon returning it, and I never have to worry about removing stuff from the car when dropping it off there. Really good shop, can’t recommend enough! Thanks a lot team

I've been going here for 20 years, and the service has been consistent, easy, and reliable. Car repair is expensive anywhere you go. I help my family and lots of friends with their cars, and I generally buy my own parts when I know what's needed. Bay Auto Center works great with this method, and this gives me the best value and results. This shop isn't fancy, and while there aren't loaner cars, it's one block away from BART. I really appreciate that I can send my friends to this shop without hesitation.

Was having car problems, and was recommended by a friend… arrived and Andy was such a help. These guys are great people. They’re not your typical mechanics, very smart and know their way around a car. Left my car super well repaired. If you’re looking for a place that’s not going to try to haggle you come to the bay auto center. Where they will do all they can. Thanks Andy my family is very thankful you solved one of our biggest problems.

Got a lot of stuff done and it was pretty affordable! Owner was super nice, he accidentally added up the total incorrectly over the phone. His staff corrected his numbers but he honored the quote he gave me. Really affordable and honest about the extent of what was necessary/what I could do later.
